Program Overview
ICD-10-CM will change everything about how we assign diagnosis codes. This seminar will provide the foundation, critical knowledge, and skill-set for you to be successful in the new ICD-10 environment. This seminar will focus on the new ICD-10-CM code structure for inpatient and outpatient services, the differences, and the benefits to transitioning to ICD-10. We will review the Official Coding Guidelines and Conventions- focusing on the major changes.
PCS (Procedure Classification System) will replace Volume 3 for inpatient coding. This system completely changes the way coders assign codes for Inpatient Procedure Codes. This seminar will review some of the major changes, such as code structure, the Alphabetic Index, the Tables, and Review of the Root Operations; which are critical elements for successful ICD-10-PCS coding.

Presenters
Mary D. Gregory, RHIT, CCS, CPC, CCS-P, CPC-I, is the Founder and President of Medical Administrative Solutions (MAS), a healthcare consulting firm specializing in medical coding, reimbursement, compliance and training solutions. She has over 25 years of medical coding experience in inpatient and outpatient services.
Mary attributes her success to her continued philosophy of providing high standards of ethical coding, high level of service and care to her customers and a reputation for quick response time. Mary provides educational seminars for hospital systems, private healthcare organizations and the Indian Health Service. Mary has been a guest speaker at Tennessee HFMA Regional Meeting, NCHIMA State Association Meeting, GHIMA Annual Meeting, and many other regional and local chapters of NCHIMA.
Mary completed her Bachelor of Arts degree at Central Piedmont Community College with a concentration in Healthcare Management. She has obtained the following credentials: RHIT, CCS, CPC, CCS-P. Mary is Licensed PMCC Instructor and an AHIMA ICD-10/PCS First Generation Trainer. She is also an active member of AHIMA, NCHIMA, AAPC, and HFMA (Healthcare Management Association).
